Personal data means any information about you on the basis of which a natural person can be determined (identified).
We process your personal data to the following extent:
a) first name, surname and academic title of the user of the controller’s website https://carpatediem.sk/ (hereinafter the “data subject“);
b) the data subject’s address;
c) the data subject’s e-mail address;
d) the data subject’s phone contact;
We process your personal data under the following legal authorization:
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, which you granted on the website https://carpatediem.sk/ (hereinafter the “e-shop”) by clicking the relevant icon consenting to the processing of your personal data by the controller. The consent you grant is voluntary and you may withdraw it at any time.
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
a) performance of the purchase contract concluded between the controller and the data subject on the basis of a submitted order for goods;
c) processing and handling customer (data subject) suggestions, complaints and questions;
d) evaluating the use of the controller’s websites (cookies)

You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for the purposes stated above.
Further information on the individual purposes, the scope and the duration of the processing of your personal data:
Re a) The personal data provided by the data subject when making a purchase through the controller’s e-shop is processed by the controller solely for the purposes of exercising the rights and obligations arising from the distance purchase contract, to the following extent: first name and surname, academic title, address, e-mail address, phone number. Providing this data is a necessary contractual requirement and the data subject is obliged to provide it complete, correct and truthful. In the event of a change or the need to correct or supplement it, the data subject is obliged to notify the controller of the change, correction or addition without undue delay. Once the purchase contract has been fully performed and the purchase price paid, the personal data will be stored in accordance with tax and commercial law archiving periods, and after those periods expire it will be deleted unless consent has been granted to process it for other purposes. If you withdraw your consent, the controller will arrange for the immediate destruction of your personal data processed for this purpose.
Re b) By subscribing to the newsletter or granting consent to the use of their personal data for marketing purposes in other contact forms (e.g. when placing an order in the controller’s e-shop), the data subject consents to the processing of their personal data to the following extent: first name, surname, academic title, address, e-mail address, for the purpose of informing and contacting them about the controller’s new products and ongoing promotions. Consent to the processing of personal data is granted for a period of 3 years. Processing of the data subject’s personal data ends when the data subject unsubscribes from the newsletter using the link provided for that purpose in the newsletter, when the data subject withdraws consent to the processing of their personal data, or upon expiry of the period, whichever occurs first. If you withdraw your consent, the controller will arrange for the immediate destruction of your personal data processed for this purpose.
Re c) By completing the order form and granting consent, or by submitting another form that forms part of the provision of a service by the controller, the data subject consents to the processing of their personal data to the following extent: first name, surname, academic title, address, e-mail, phone, for the purpose of communicating with the customer and managing customer suggestions, complaints and questions. Consent to the processing of personal data is granted for a period of 3 years. Processing of the personal data ends when the data subject withdraws consent to the processing of their personal data or upon expiry of the period, whichever occurs first. If you withdraw your consent, the controller will arrange for the immediate destruction of your personal data processed for this purpose.
Re d) The controller uses cookies on its website to make it easier for users to navigate the controller’s e-shop website. Their use does not involve obtaining any personal data and they cannot be used to collect personal data about a specific natural person. They remember the website user’s choices and record selected information (e.g. browsing duration, preferred store). Cookies are used for marketing communication purposes and for statistical purposes. Cookies can be disabled at any time in your browser settings, which may, however, make some website features unavailable.
The controller uses the following types of cookies on its e-shop websites:
- necessary cookies: these cookies are required for the operation of the controller’s e-shop websites (e.g. cookies that allow you to log in to secure sections of the controller’s e-shop);
- functional cookies: these cookies remember your choices in order to improve your user experience. They allow the controller’s e-shop website to tailor content for you or to remember your preferences, e.g. your choice of language. The data collected by these cookies does not identify you personally. Their use is subject to your browser being set to accept them; this permission is usually preset by the browser and can be changed in the browser settings;
- analytical cookies: tthese cookies allow us to analyze how you interact with the controller’s e-shop websites, which we can use to improve and simplify the usability of the e-shop websites. The data collected by these cookies is aggregated and anonymous;
- social network cookies: for certain features within the controller’s e-shop websites we use a third party as a supplier, by embedding third-party website features – in particular social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, Twitter, YouTube) – which include elements that can read and sometimes also place cookies from these social networks on your device. Our company, as the controller, has no access to these cookies; more detailed information about the conditions and the data processed is available on the websites of the operators of the respective social networks.
Are you obliged to provide us with your personal data?
Providing personal data for the purposes stated above is voluntary.
However, if you do not provide personal data for the purposes stated above, we will not be able to accept your order and proceed with the proper performance of the purchase contract, if one has been concluded, nor to handle your suggestions, complaints or questions, nor to send you the newsletter; and if you do not consent to cookies, the websites you use within our e-shop may not function correctly.
Who will your personal data be disclosed to externally?
We process your personal data for the purposes stated above only internally within CARPATE DIEM, s.r.o. We do not disclose the personal data you have provided to us for one or more of the purposes stated above to third parties, nor do we transfer it to third countries, with the exception of our IT service providers, who need access to the information system that processes your personal data. In such cases, the IT service providers become processors and must process your personal data only on the basis of our documented contractual instructions.
Securing your personal data:
The websites within the CARPATE DIEM, s.r.o. e-shop, as well as our other computer systems, are secured by technical and organizational measures against access to, modification of and processing of personal data by unauthorized persons, as well as against loss and destruction. Encryption is used when personal data is transferred.
Your rights regarding your personal data:
Right to withdraw consent:
You may withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data for the purposes stated above at any time with immediate effect. After you withdraw consent, we will destroy your personal data, or if we also use it for other purposes about which we have informed you separately, we will stop using it for the purposes stated above for which you granted us consent. You may withdraw consent by sending a request electronically to the e-mail address vino@carpatediem.sk, by sending a written request to CARPATE DIEM, s.r.o., Nádražná 55, 900 81 Šenkvice, Slovakia, or by delivering a written request in person at the registered office of CARPATE DIEM, s.r.o., Nádražná 55, 900 81 Šenkvice, Slovakia. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the processing of your personal data carried out before its withdrawal.
Right of access to your personal data:
Upon request, you have the right to obtain information from us about what personal data concerning you we process for the purposes stated above, as well as to receive a copy of that personal data. However, this must not adversely affect the rights of third parties, including other persons who have provided us with personal data, and other people’s personal data cannot be disclosed to you in this way.
Right to rectification or completion of your personal data:
Upon request, you have the right to have inaccurate personal data concerning you rectified and incomplete personal data concerning you completed, where we process such data for the purposes stated above. By exercising this right properly, you help us keep your personal data accurate and up to date.
Right to erasure of your personal data:
Upon request, you have the right to request the erasure of your personal data only where the purpose of its processing described above has ended, where a legal regulation requires your personal data to be erased, or where your personal data is being processed unlawfully.
Right to restriction of the processing of your personal data:
Upon request, you have the right to have your personal data blocked (restriction of the processing of your personal data to mere storage; we may not carry out any other operations with it during the block), but only in the following cases:
a) restriction of the processing of your personal data while its accuracy is being verified;
b) where your personal data is being processed unlawfully and you request, instead of erasure of your personal data, only the restriction of its processing (storage only);
c) you need your personal data for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
Right to portability of your personal data:
Upon request, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you that we process for the purposes stated above in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and you have the right to request that this personal data be transmitted to another controller where technically feasible. However, this must not adversely affect the rights of third parties.
Right to object to the processing of your personal data for the purposes stated above:
You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for one or more of the purposes stated above, by sending a request electronically to the e-mail address vino@carpatediem.sk, by sending a written request to CARPATE DIEM, s.r.o., Nádražná 55, 900 81 Šenkvice, Slovakia, or by delivering a written request in person at the registered office of CARPATE DIEM, s.r.o., Nádražná 55, 900 81 Šenkvice, Slovakia. Upon receipt of the objection, we will destroy your personal data, or if we also use it for other purposes about which we have informed you separately, we will stop using it for the stated purposes against which you have raised your objections. Your objections do not affect the processing of your personal data carried out before your objections were delivered.
How you can exercise all your rights regarding personal data:
You may exercise your rights by sending a request electronically to the e-mail address vino@carpatediem.sk, by sending a written request to CARPATE DIEM, s.r.o., Nádražná 55, 900 81 Šenkvice, Slovakia, or by delivering a written request in person at the registered office of CARPATE DIEM, s.r.o., Nádražná 55, 900 81 Šenkvice, Slovakia.
In the case of a request concerning your personal data, we are obliged to verify your identity so that we can be sure that it is really you exercising rights in relation to your personal data. We will verify your identity by inspecting your photo ID when you deliver your written request in person; in the case of a postal or electronic request, if we have any doubts we will request further information from you in order to reliably establish your identity.
We will respond to your request concerning the processing of personal data without undue delay, and in any case within one month of its delivery. In special cases we may extend this period by a further two months, but we will always inform you of the reasons for the extension within one month of receiving the request.
We respond to your requests free of charge; however, if your requests are excessive, manifestly unfounded or repetitive, we may require you to pay a reasonable administrative fee for handling them.
You have the right to lodge a request to initiate proceedings with the supervisory authority (Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27) if you believe that the processing of your personal data is contrary to this information or to applicable legal regulations. Before doing so, however, we recommend that you contact our data protection officer, who is ready to resolve any concerns you may have to your satisfaction.
In any case, you are obliged to provide us only with personal data that is accurate, complete and up to date. If you are under 16 years of age, you may provide your personal data only with the explicit consent of your legal representative.
